Dr Kirsty Berry received her undergraduate medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2011 after having first completed her degree and community service in Scottburgh, KwaZulu-Natal in physiotherapy. She completed her medical internship at GF Jooste Hospital in Manenberg, Cape Town, and then held community service and medical officer posts at 2 Military Hospital in the Orthopaedic Department, where her love for the speciality was shaped and grew. This was followed by further surgical training at New Somerset, Victoria and Mitchell’s Plain Hospitals. Her specialist training took place at the University of Cape Town where she trained at Groote Schuur, Red Cross Children’s Hospital and Maitland Cottage; which she completed in 2021.
After an enriching time in London under the tutelage of Mr Peter Bates, she returned to Cape Town where she now enjoys working with a team of excellent orthopaedic colleagues at both Groote Schuur and Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital
