Michael Dixon

Michael Dixon graduated from the University of Cape Town with a BA LLB degree in 1994 and began his legal career in 1995. By 1998, he became a partner and subsequently took over the firm in 1999, which evolved into Dixon Attorneys. With over 27 years of post-qualification experience, the firm is based at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town and brings extensive expertise in Contract Law, Civil Law, and especially Commercial Law. Michael has negotiated and drafted a wide range of commercial contracts and has represented clients in complex disputes involving the Companies Act, liquidations, sequestrations, as well as disagreements among partners, shareholders, and directors. He also advises an international IT group on risk management, corporate governance, and civil and commercial litigation.

In addition to his legal practice, Michael is actively involved in business and community initiatives. Since August 2021, he has served on the Executive Committee of the Western Province Cricket Club, overseeing operations at Newlands Cricket Ground including the Member’s Pavilion, and chairs the club’s Disciplinary Committee. He is a Director of Milkwood Holdings, a pioneering economic transformation project aimed at regional development, skills training, and job creation through regenerative business models within Milkwood City. This initiative is part of the larger Africa123 vision to establish sustainable urban growth centers across the continent, focusing on regenerating land resources and building resilient community partnerships. Michael acts as the Legal Lead on energy production within the project, concentrating on renewable energy and energy self-sufficiency.
