Orthopaedic Surgeon at Cape Orthopaedic Trauma Group, Vincent Pallotti Hospital

Dr Kirsty Berry is currently the Orthopaedic Surgeon, Cape Orthopaedic Trauma Group, Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital and Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon (Trauma Service), Groote Schuur Hospital and University of Cape Town. She is a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon with a strong foundation in trauma care and joint replacement surgery. Her medical journey began with a BSc in Physiotherapy (2006) and community service in Scottburgh, KwaZulu-Natal. Inspired to further her medical career, she completed her MBBCh at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2011. She undertook her medical internship at GF Jooste Hospital in Manenberg, Cape Town, followed by community service and medical officer roles at 2 Military Hospital in the Orthopaedic Department. This period sparked her passion for orthopaedic surgery, which she developed further through surgical training at New Somerset Hospital, Victoria Hospital, and Mitchell’s Plain Hospital. Her specialist orthopaedic training took place at the University of Cape Town, where she gained experience at Groote Schuur Hospital, Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, and Maitland Cottage Home for Children, completing her training in 2021.

She is a member of South African Orthopaedic Association and AO Trauma Foundation
